Between cramming for pre-Christmas finals, deciding what gift to give to whom (not to mention figuring out how to pay for it) and trying to remain patient under pressure, it’s easy for your fa-la-la mood to crash to the floor like an ornament that refuses to stay hooked on the tree. Here are a few hints to help out before you have a merry meltdown!
1. Grab the nearest Bible to get the life-jolting facts on peace and joy. Remember, the angel told the shepherds he was bringing good news of great joy and peace to all mankind—that includes you, girlfriend, right here and now! Check out 1 Peter 5:7.
2. Do something aerobic, such as jumping rope or get creative and design your own indoor circuit-training routine (get suggestions at andreastephens.com).
3. Lie on the floor—on your back—staring at a spot on the ceiling. Now take four deep breaths. Next, think about God’s faithfulness. He has seen you through so many things in the past, and He’ll see you through this busy season, too. He’s always with you and will not let you down. OK, now that your brain is on the right track, shoot your questions and concerns up to Him and listen for the answers. That frown will disappear from your beautiful face!
4. Blab it out with some Talk Therapy. Face it—you have issues. We all do! After you have talked them out with God, talk them out with a parent or a trusted adult. Share your burdens, girlfriend, and be there when a friend needs to share hers.
5. Try these quick picker-uppers: Take a sudsy, scented, long, hot bubble bath. Oh, what fun! Place a fresh-cut flower in a vase on your bed stand. Sniff in the fragrance. Wet two candy-cane-flavored tea bags (yep, peppermint); then stash them in the freezer until they’re feeling the chill. Lie down and place the chilled tea bags over your eyes and let them refresh your eyes while removing all puffiness (especially good after a huge sob session). Get a tube of Touch of Sun Radiance Reviver by Olay. It’s a combo of moisturizing body lotion with a very light sunless tanner. A bit of color has a cool way of brightening our look and lightening our soul.
It’s important that you remember, whether it’s the Christmas season or not, that real beauty doesn’t have anything to do with your hips or zits or threads or cash flow. Your real beauty is about allowing God’s love, mercy and grace to flow from you to others. It’s being kind, forgiving, patient and selfless. Beauty God’s
way is the best beauty of all!

Beauty Tip: Being on the road can take a toll on my sleep, and my eyes look
tired. I recently discovered Angels Make Up Collagen Intensive. Put them
under your
eyes for 15 minutes, and you’re photo ready!
Fashion Flare: Be gutsy in the shoe department. Go for simple yet loud—such as a pair of kelly green corduroy heels!
